Obituary of Josephine Wakin

November 09, 2011 Resident of Trumbull Josephine Wakin, of Trumbull, passed away on November 9, 2011 in the Jewish Home for the Elderly. The daughter of the late Victor and Victoria Roomian, Josephine was born in Beirut, Lebanon, and lived in Paterson, New Jersey before moving to Bridgeport, CT as a teenager. Josephine was pre-deceased by her husband, Albert H. Wakin Sr. Together they owned and operated a number of restaurants including The Congress Candy Shoppe and Grayces Luncheonette, both in Bridgeport. Josephine is survived by her three children, Albert H. Wakin, Jr. and his wife, Elizabeth of Monroe, Shirley Wakin of Trumbull and Sandra Grazynski and her husband, Frank, also of Trumbull, five grandchildren, Alysa Wakin and her husband, James Siewert, Michele Wakin and her husband, Victor Morales, David Grazynski and his fiance Meredith Bocklet, Robert Grazynski and Daniel Grazynski. She is also survived by her sister, Mary Roomian of Fairfield and three great grandchildren. The family would like to thank the staff at the Jewish Home for the Elderly in Fairfield, for their outstanding care and compassion. Funeral Information A Memorial Mass celebrating her life will take place on Saturday, November 12, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in the Egan Chapel of St. Ignatius Loyola at Fairfield University, 1073 North Benson Rd., Fairfield.
