Obituary of Silvio Percivalle

U.S. Navy Veteran Silvio Percivalle, age 74, passed from this life peacefully at his home in Monroe on Monday, April 16, 2012. Born in Bridgeport on November 17, 1937, he was the first generation first born son of Northern Italian immigrants, Andrea Percivalle and Laura Boch. Silvio grew up on Stratford Avenue with his sister Julie and brothers Peter and Alfredo, attended Lincoln Elementary School and Bullard Havens Technical School. Silvio proudly served in the U. S. Navy from 1954-1958 and credits his experience in the Navy for the discipline he acquired to prepare for the successes he achieved in life. He served on the submarine, USS Tirante (SS 420) as an Electricians Mate Third Class and was honorably discharged receiving the European Occupation Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. Silvio owned and operated Fair-Conn Inc., a successful manufacturing company from 1975-2003. He realized a lifelong dream when he obtained his pilots IFR private license and traveled extensively in his Piper Cherokee 6, single engine plane. Silvio was an avid scuba diver and enjoyed challenging himself with physical activity that included running and playing racquetball and handball. He was a longtime member of the YMCA and the Stratford Club. Silvio is survived by his loving wife, Peggy Rockwell Percivalle, his children, Andrea Percivalle Stapleton of Portland, OR, and Monroe, CT former son-in-law and friend Chris Stapleton, Lori Percivalle Reuter and her husband Nicholas of Mooresville, NC and Mark Percivalle and his wife Kimberly of Shelton, a brother, Peter Percivalle and his wife Marlene of CA, a sister, Julie Alberghini and her husband Mario of FL. He has seven beautiful grandchildren, Christopher William Stapleton, Connor James Stapleton, Nicholas Reuter, Malorie Reuter, Carliana Percivalle, Marissa Percivalle and Mark Percivalle Jr. and several nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by a son, Silvio, Jr. and a brother, Alfredo Percivalle. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Friday, April 20, 2012 at 8:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 9:00 a.m. in St. Theresa Church, Trumbull for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment with military honors will follow in Long Hill Burial Grounds, Trumbull. Relatives and friends may call on Thursday from 4-8 p.m.
