Obituary of Irene Mallick

Resident of Bridgeport Irene Lemanski Mallick, age 79, of Bridgeport, died on Friday, October 27, 2006 at Bridgeport Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Born in Bridgeport, she was a daughter of the late Stanislaw and Mary Baczek Lemanski. A lifelong area resident, Mrs. Mallick received a four year scholarship to Connecticut College in New London where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry. She was later employed by General Electric in Bridgeport as a chemist, where she met her husband, the late John S. Mallick. After raising her children, she received a Masters degree in Education at the University of Bridgeport and was a elementary teacher within the Bridgeport School System. She was later employed by Peoples Bank in Mortgage Services. She was a former member of the Trumbull Marriott Health Club and a member of the Polish Falcons Nest 107. She was pre-deceased by her husband, John S. Mallick, two brothers, Joseph and Edward Lemanski and a sister, Laura Wentovich. Survivors include one daughter, Elizabeth I. Mallick of Bridgeport, five sons, John A. Mallick and his wife, Barbara of Dripping Springs, TX, James E. Mallick and his wife, Cheryl Ann of Shelton, Christopher Mallick and his wife, Peggy of Wallingford, Karl J. Mallick of Bridgeport and Robert P. Mallick and his wife, Barbara of Wallingford, a sister, Josephine Dombroski of Stratford, six grandchildren, Austin, Brendan, Chelsea, Bethany, David and John Russell as well as many nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the Oncology Associates of Bridgeport and the Norma F. Pfreim Cancer Ward for their compassion and dignified care. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Monday, October 30, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Grace Church, Stratford for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St. John Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may call on Sunday from 3 to 7 pm. Donations Information In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Norma F.
