Obituary of Lois M. Pfrommer
Lois Margaret (Dobey) Pfrommer, age 88, of Trumbull passed away peacefully on Monday, September 28, 2026 at St. Vincent's Medical Center. Born in Bridgeport on August 15, 1938 she was a daughter of the late Louis and Margaret (Haydu) Dobey. Lois was a graduate of Laurelton Hall High School and completed her undergraduate studies at the University of CT before obtaining her master's degree in education from the University of Bridgeport. She was an elementary school teacher for 33 years, mostly first grade at Tashua Elementary School in Trumbull where she touched the lives of so many individuals under her instruction. She was a Girl Scout Leader for 6 years. When she first moved to Trumbull, she served on the Welcome Wagon, was a member and publicity chair for the Junior Women's Club. After retirement, she joined the Long Hill Garden Club and served as Publicity Chair. She worked with the Trumbull Parks and Recreation Department as a member of the Conservation Committee helping plant a mature tree at each elementary school in Trumbull. She loved working in her perennial garden, mowing her own lawn and caring for a variety of decorative shrubs surrounding her property. She enjoyed reading, sewing and knitting, making many shawls for cancer patients.
A loving mother, sister, cousin and dear friend of many, she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her loving daughter, Donna Pfrommer of Milford, her son-in-law, Glen Bashian of Berlin, MA, and his brother, Gary Bashian of Nashua, NH, her sister, Diane Fox and her husband Bruce of Sarasota, FL, her nieces, Pamela Johnson and her husband Rob and Chrissy Pfrommer, both of England, as well as her close family friend, Carol Gannon of Trumbull.
