Obituary of Stella Shandrowski

Stella Shandrowski, 94, of Ansonia, formerly of Stratford, Connecticut, peacefully entered into eternal life on Saturday, September 5, 2026, at Norwalk Hospital.

Stella was born on July 21, 1932, in Bridgeport, Connecticut, and graduated from Harding High School. She later worked in the administrative and customer service fields. Stella had a deep love for animals, with a special affection for cats. Above all, she cherished her family and especially enjoyed spending time with them during the holidays. Family was at the heart of Stella's life, and she never forgot a birthday, anniversary, or any other special date. Known affectionately as "Gammie" to her grandchildren, Stella was always ready with her camera to capture the special moments shared with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She lovingly preserved these memories in scrapbooks that will be treasured by her family for years to come. She enjoyed celebrating birthdays, gathering with family, and making memories with those she loved. Stella also had a legendary sweet tooth, if there was chocolate around, you could be sure she would be there!

Her greatest joy was her family, and the memories she created with them will be treasured and carried on by all who knew and loved her.

Stella was the beloved wife of the late Stanley Shandrowski. She was predeceased by her parents, Joseph Daszynski and Mary Snyder; her sister, Josephine Myroniuk, brother-in-law Harry Myroniuk and her son-in-law, Ray Boychew Sr.

Stella will be lovingly remembered by her five children: Rose Boychew; Michael Shandrowski and his wife, Jill; Joseph Shandrowski and his partner, Jeanine; Robert Shandrowski and his wife, Charlene; and Trina Shandrowski and her husband, Frank Kulikowski. She also leaves six grandchildren, Raymond Boychew and his wife, Jhackie, Katina Boychew, Skylar Shandrowski and her fiancé, David Kudej, James Shandrowski, Danika Shandrowski, Jessamyn Ramonas, and Matthew Kulikowski; two great-grandchildren, McKinley and Madisyn Boychew; and several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Margaret Mary Church, 50 Donovan Lane, Shelton, CT 06484. Burial will follow at St. Joseph of Stratford National Catholic Church Cemetery in Stratford, Connecticut.
