Obituary of Clifford L. Holcomb, Jr.
Clifford L. Holcomb, Jr., age 75, of Trumbull, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 29, 2026, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Deborah (Dragan) Holcomb. Born in Norwalk on July 7, 1950, he was a son of the late Clifford L. and Sheila (Loundes) Holcomb, Sr. Cliff graduated from Central Catholic high School in Norwalk Connecticut in 1968, where he met the love of his life Debbie. Cliff is also proud alum of the College of the Holy Cross and a U.S. Army veteran, having served honorably in Germany during the late Vietnam Era. He was later employed in management at the former SNET and then continued his dedicated service through their multiple name mergers and acquisitions over the next 40+ years. After he retired from his career in telecommunications, he worked at Wesley Heights and Village as a driver helping seniors in need until he retired for good in 2021. He shared his love for golf with his sons and many friends, spending countless afternoons on the golf course, appreciating the game's quiet atmosphere and calm precision. He shared his love of baking his signature brown bread with his daughter, especially during the holidays when all could look forward to gathering for a meal Cliff loved to prepare. He was an avid reader of Civil War literature and could always be found with a good book in hand. If he wasn’t reading, he was usually sharing a movie with Debbie, preparing a witty quote from his favorite flicks to share with his brothers. On most Thursdays, Cliff joined his friends for basketball, barely slowing down through the years. He was a dedicated volunteer with the Junior Achievement Program, which he held close to his heart, spending time inspiring young learners to excel in a global economy. As a drummer in high school his love for music could always be heard on the car or house stereo especially Sunday mornings or during family meals. A loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend of many. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his beloved wife Deborah of nearly 55 years, other survivors include his devoted children, Clifford L. “Rusty” Holcomb, III, and his wife Carol of Hebron, Christie A.
