Obituary of John T. Sheehan Jr.
John T. Sheehan, Jr., 79, of Trumbull, passed away suddenly at his home on Thursday, May 21, 2026. He was the beloved husband of Mary Lou (Allan) Sheehan.
Born in Bridgeport on June 9, 1946, John was the son of the late John T. and Carmella (Monte) Sheehan, Sr. He worked in the parts department at Truck Center, Inc. of North Haven for over 30 years before retiring.
John was a true auto enthusiast with a love of old classic cars and a particular soft spot for the Scout. He kept his own cars immaculate and detailed them meticulously — the kind of care that spoke louder than he ever did.
A man of few words, he was happiest surrounded by his family, and especially his grandchildren, whom he adored. He rarely missed a game or an event they were part of, always there to cheer them on.
A loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, John will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his beloved wife Mary Lou of 56 wonderful years, he is survived by his devoted children, Meghan Feli of Boise, Idaho, Alisa Wigglesworth and her husband Jimmy of Trumbull, and John T. Sheehan, III and his wife Lindsey of Shelton; his cherished grandchildren, Kenley Feli, Luke Wigglesworth, Noah Wigglesworth, John T. "Jack" Sheehan IV, and Grant Sheehan; his niece, Karen Ploof and her husband Robert of Bridgeport, and their children, Christopher and Jonathan Ploof; and his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jim and Bernadette Allan of New Hampshire, and their children, Matthew and Jamey Allan. He was predeceased by his son-in-law, Chad Feli, and his sister, Cathy Sheehan.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 4, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church, 1734 Huntington Tpke., Trumbull. Interment will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Friends may greet the family at the church beginning at 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, Trumbull.
