Obituary of Anthony S. Caserta

Anthony S. Caserta, age 93, of Trumbull passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 31, 2026 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of the late Barbara (Chatfield) Caserta. Born in Bridgeport on March 5, 1933 he was a son of the late Anthony and Florence (Massotta) Caserta. Mr. Caserta was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army, having served his country honorably prior to his discharge. Anthony had been employed by the State of Connecticut as a teacher of the blind for many years before his retirement. He touched the lives of many over his years of dedicated service and built many friendships along the way. His love for music was fulfilled as a part time amateur musician and he also loved animals, especially his canine companions, Brandy, Juny and Dory. Tony was famous for throwing eccentric parties for any and all occasions, whether at home or at restaurants, he valued the purpose of a good party to bring the family together as often as possible. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Survivors include his loving sister-in-law, Linda Scranton and her husband Fred of Guilford, his cherished nieces and nephews, Jill Scranton, Liz Thurston, Anthony Caserta, Andrew Caserta, Corey Caserta and their significant others, as well as several great nieces and nephews. In addition to his beloved wife Barbara, he was also predeceased by his brother, Frank Caserta.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 9, 2026 at 12:00 p.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull.
