Obituary of George T. Stowe

George Terrence Stowe, age 72 of Monroe, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 30, 2026, surrounded by loved ones. Born in Bridgeport on March 18, 1954, he was the son of the late George and Ann Barbi Stowe.

He graduated from Newtown High School and Bullard Haven's nursing program. He cherished his role as a nurse and will be remembered as a kind, compassionate, and generous man to all whose lives he touched. Most important to him was spending time with his loving family.

Survivors include his spouse, James Bodnar, his sister, Lucy Darbisi (Ron), his nephews Christopher, Nicholas (Amy), and Michael Darbisi, his aunt Gertrude Stowe of Sebring, FL, a grandniece and a grandnephew, and several cousins. Also surviving him is his mother-in- law, Rosita Hargus, his brothers-in-law David Bodnar (Brenda), Scott Hargus, and his sister-in-law Danielle Hargus. He was pre-deceased by his father-in-law, Charles Hargus.

A Mass will be celebrated DIRECTLY at St. Joseph Arimathea American National Catholic Church, 680 Racebrook Road, Orange, CT on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Newtown Village Cemetery, Newtown. Family and friends are invited to greet the family on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
