Obituary of JoAnn M. Wells

JoAnn M. Wells, age 75, of Shelton, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 22, 2026 at Bridgeport Hospital with her loving family by her side. Born in Englewood, New Jersey on March 13, 1950, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Ruth (Petri) Guckenberger and was a longtime resident of Shelton.

JoAnn continued to work because of her love of her coworkers and the satisfaction it brought her. In her spare time, she loved spending time with her grandchildren and close friends whether it be over a meal or vacation/get away. She also kept very active by walking 5 miles a day and exercising regularly.

Survivors include her two sons, Bryan Wells and Kevin Wells (Nicolle); and four cherished grandchildren, Matthew Burke, Juliana Wells, Charley Wells and Blake Wells as well as many cousins. She was predeceased by her two sisters, Linda Labash and Carol Guckenberger.

Relatives and friends may greet the family on Monday, March 2, 2026 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull followed by a Mass of Christian Burial that will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. at St. Lawrence Church, 505 Shelton Ave., Shelton. Interment will take place on Tuesday, March 3, 2026 at 12:00 Noon directly in Mount Carmel Cemetery, 10 Serpentine Rd, Tenafly, NJ.
