Obituary of David R. D'Elia

David R. D'Elia, age 78, of Newtown, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 31, 2026 at Danbury Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Norma Serreti D'Elia. Born in Bridgeport on August 14, 1947, he was a son of the late Connie and Florence Rousso D'Elia. Dave was a retired electrical engineer for Think Logical of Milford. He was a member of the East End Yacht Club and enjoyed fishing and being out on the waters of Long Island Sound. His greatest enjoyment was found in the time he spent surrounded by his family. Whether it was cheering at his son's football and baseball games, watching professional wrestling or car racing.

In addition to his wife Norma of 54 years, he is survived by his loving son, David C. D'Elia, his three siblings, Vincent D'Elia of Amsterdam, Joette Teto and her husband Eugene of Trumbull and Peter D'Elia and his wife Dana of Monroe, as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, February 28, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. directly in St. Rose of Lima Church, 46 Church Hill Road, Newtown. Interment will be held privately at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours.
