Obituary of Daniel Coelho

Daniel Moura Coelho, age 89, of Bridgeport, beloved husband of Maria Pereira Coelho, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 17, 2025 surrounded by his loving family at his daughter's residence. Born on June 2, 1936 in Gralhos, Montalegre, Portugal, he was a son of the late Acacio Justino Esteves Coelho and Albertina Fernandes Coelho.

A proud member of the Portuguese Army, he immigrated to the United States on September 1970, settling in Bridgeport. He was a member of the Connecticut Laborers Union Local 146 for over 50 years and was employed by many area construction companies. Daniel was a long-time member of the Vasco da Gama Portuguese Club and a parishioner at Our Lady of Fatima Church.

In addition to his beloved wife of 59 years, Maria, he is survived by three children, eight cherished grandchildren, two adored great grandchildren, Brooklyn and Dante, son-in-law, Carlos Pires, who loved and cared for His father-in-law, as well as many relatives in the United States and Portugal.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 3, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. directly in Our Lady of Fatima Church, 429 Huntington Rd., Bridgeport. Entombment will follow in Lawncroft Cemetery, Fairfield. At Daniel's request, there will be no calling hours.
