Obituary of Arlene H. Wilson

Arlene Hall Wilson, age 101, of Easton CT, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 6, 2025. She was the beloved wife of the late Donald B. Wilson. Born in South Windham, Vermont on February 23, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Harry L. and Bernice Gibbs Hall.

After moving to Connecticut in 1948, she became a member of the Bristol Congregational Church and was a devoted parishioner for many years. Arlene was employed as a seamstress working for the Hour Glass Cleaners up until her retirement. She loved to ski, golf, bowl, and was an avid square dancer. Arlene enjoyed playing several different types of games, but card games were her favorite. She loved to bake and enjoyed hosting family and friends at her home.

Arlene moved to Easton in 2012 to live with her daughter, and became a parishioner of Jesse Lee United Methodist Church. She enjoyed many activities at the Easton Senior Center. Living in the Christmas Tree Capital of CT, she would travel with her daughter during the holiday season to enjoy the sites of the many active tree farms in Easton and loved to count all the trees on the roofs of cars. Arlene will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her devoted and loving daughter Diane Wilson (Diane) as well as cherished nieces, Donna Collinsworth (Robert) and Patricia Holton (Leon), dear friend Caroline (Carrie Lee) Henderson, and many treasured great nieces, nephews and great great nieces and nephews and dear friends. She was predeceased by her brother, Sherburne Hall.

There will be a Memorial Service on Wednesday, December 10, 2025 at 11:00 am directly in Jesse Lee United Methodist Church, 25 Flat Rock Rd., Easton, CT 06612. If you plan on attending the Memorial Service, please add a splash of purple to your outfit (Arlene's favorite color). Interment will take place at a later date at the Meeting House Cemetery, Brattleboro, VT.
