Obituary of Paul J. Moyher III

Paul J. Moyher, III, affectionately known as "PJ', age 56, of Groton, CT and Pittsburg, NH, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 1, 2025 with his loved ones by his side. He was born in Bridgeport on April 25, 1969 and was the son of Paul J. Moyher of Shelton and the late Mariann (Kwolek) Moyher.

PJ grew up in a close-knit family and will always be remembered for his incredible spirit and zest for life. In addition to his devoted father Paul, he leaves behind a loving sister, Deenna Nealon and her husband James, two nephews, James Nealon Jr. and his wife Emily Spain, David Nealon, and a niece, Kaitlin Nealon.

He spent his earliest years in Stratford and then in Shelton. PJ attended St Joseph High School in Trumbull, CT. He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and in Hospitality Management, as well as an MBA. PJ most recently worked for Pratt and Whitney and Electric Boat in New London as a Senior Auditor. He was a long term resident of Mumford Cove in Groton and served on the Board of Directors of the Mumford Cove Association in Groton, CT.

PJ loved the outdoors and especially enjoyed boating, jet skiing, snowmobiling, and motor sports. He was a masterful engineer and could build or repair any piece equipment or vehicle. He was often jokingly called "The Great Brain" by his family. He personally designed and built a beautiful lakefront home in New Hampshire where he felt the happiest and enjoyed life to the fullest. PJ also spent several years living and working in Boca Raton, FL and Nantucket, both of which felt like home to him.

PJ also leaves behind a beloved girlfriend, Reina, and her three children whom he grew to love as his own. He was a wonderful friend to so many people whom he cherished and thought of as extended family. Since the young age of 20, he privately battled medical challenges like a Marine and never gave up fighting to restore his health no matter the odds or obstacles. PJ was the best storyteller, was quick-witted, and had the ability to make everyone laugh aloud. He loved fiercely and deeply and will be truly missed by all of those who knew him.

PJ rescued a Tibetan Terrier, Pierre, who was one of his greatest joys and a tremendous source of love and comfort. Their bond was a truly beautiful blessing in his life.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, November 7, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. directly in St. Lawrence Church, 505 Shelton Ave., Shelton. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull.
