Obituary of Mario Pirulli

Mario Pirulli, age 58, of Monroe, beloved husband of Lana Palumbo Pirulli, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, October 28, 2025 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Bridgeport on April 23, 1967, he was the son of the late Damiano and Lorenza Bozzi Pirulli.

A graduate of the Bullard Havens Technical School Class of 1985, Mario joined the Bridgeport Police Department in October, 1993 and was dedicated to serve and protect the Bridgeport residents until his retirement in June, 2020. A respected officer, Mario was the Department Head and Instructor of Firearms and a member of the ESU Team.

A true music lover at heart, Mario taught himself to play the drums and played professionally. He became the drummer in Full Tilt, Four Sticks, Bad Mojo and RUB. Self-proclaimed "patron saint of birds," he was dedicated to feeding his local flock every morning, but cherished his beloved cat Nora Jean Jones most of all.

Mario was a dedicated and loving husband and father. He valued time with his family and was there whenever he was needed. His memory will forever live in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. Mario was predeceased by his daughter Lily Pirulli, brother Dino Pirulli and his father-in-law, Secondino Palumbo.

In addition to his beloved wife of 32 years, Lana, survivors include two cherished daughters, Bronte Pirulli and Maya Pirulli, two brothers, Peter Pirulli and his wife Debbie, and Anthony Pirulli and his wife Justine, sister-in-law, Jill Pirulli, mother-in-law, Assunta Palumbo, brothers and sisters-in-law, Paolo Palumbo and his wife Susie, Marco Palumbo and his wife Lauren, and Donna Hall, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, friends and relatives in Italy.

Relatives and friends may greet the family on Sunday, November 2, 2025 from 1 – 4 pm in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull. Family remembrances will take place at 3:30 pm in the funeral home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, November 3, 2025 at 11:00 am directly in St. Jude Church, 707 Monroe Turnpike. Interment will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Monroe, where Mario will be laid to rest with his daughter Lily.
