Obituary of Elaine F. Romano
Elaine Tesla Romano, age 86, of Shelton, beloved wife of the late Joseph G. Romano Sr., passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 8, 2025. Born in Bridgeport on August 7, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Angelina (Germano) Tesla.
Her high school year book listed her as being "small, but mighty", a phrase which described her perfectly even up until her last days. Elaine always appeared invincible, pushing through even her worst days with a smile. She was always on the move and had a knack for being good at everything she set her mind to, whether it be racing pigeons, painting a beautiful mural, landscaping her vast garden, making exquisite floral arrangements or laying every brick by hand in her patio. She like to keep busy and had a blooming social life, surrounding herself with friends that she had kept from as early as kindergarten.
Her happiest moments were when she was being embraced by her loved ones and one of her favorite sayings was "Give me a Hug". Elaine will be remembered for her warmth, kindness, and the deep love she had for her family. Her gentle spirit and unwavering devotion to those she cared for will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Elaine was predeceased by her beloved son, Joseph G. Romano Jr., and her brother, Frank Tesla Jr. She is survived by her two loving children, James G. Romano and his wife Cathy of Arizona and Jeanine G. Curran and her husband William of Colorado. She also leaves behind four cherished grandchildren, "Scorch" (Jeanine's child), Laura, Brittany and Jamie and twelve great grandchildren, Jason, Rebecca, Jackson, Jacob, Joseph, Brooklyn, Allison, Julian, Jonathan, Jamison, Emma and Luca. Elaine is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and extended family members who loved her dearly.
