Obituary of Robert Thomas Franzago, Jr.

Tom Franzago passed away peacefully on September 29th, with his loving wife and devoted sons by his side.

He was born in Norwalk, Connecticut, graduated Notre Dame High School, Norwalk Technical College, and Sacred Heart University.  He was an administrator in the United States Postal Service for 38 years, a realtor, and in retirement a school bus driver - affectionately known as Mr. Tom by all the kids.

Tom loved the beach - on any given day, in any given month, he and Andrea could be found soaking up the rays, or drinking a cup of coffee from the car while they watched the waves.  The lights of his life were his sons, and the shining stars of his life were his grandchildren, to whom he dedicated his retirement to - never missing a moment to be with them.  He was an avid New York Mets fan through thick and thin.

Tom was a humble, selfless, unassuming, kind man who loved his family and friends above all else.

He is survived by wife of 49 years Andrea, his sons Michael (Diana), Nicholas (Jenna), and Paul, his grandchildren Vinny and Lia, his brother Gerald, his sisters Nancy and Mary Jo, brother-in-law Nick, sister-in-law Jaime, and several nieces and nephews.

Tom always reminded people that “everything is temporary” to help them through challenging times.  He’ll remain in our hearts forever.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, October 4, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. directly in St. Jude Church, 707 Monroe Turnpike, Monroe. Interment will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
