Obituary of Juveniano G. Videira

Juveniano G. Videira, age 82, of Shelton passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 21, 2025 surrounded by his loving family at Griffin Hospital in Derby. He was the beloved husband of Eleanor (Netto) Videira. Born in Vilas Boas, Portugal on October 3, 1942 he was a son of the late Joaquim and Herminia (Guedes) Videira. Mr. Videira came to the United States in 1961 and settled in Bridgeport. In 1977, he moved to Shelton and was the proud owner and operator of J. Videira Paving. He was also a longtime member of the Vasco Da Gama Club, where he built many friendships over the years. A loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle and friend of many. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his beloved wife Eleanor of 60 years, other survivors include his loving children,  Maria E. Videira and Jack J. Videira and his wife Melissa, all of Shelton, his cherished grandchildren, Jacklyn Videira (Kyle), Matthew Giambazi and his wife Ashley, Jacob Videira, Jonathan Devillegas (Madison), Jaden Giambazi, Amber Videira, Nathan Videira, Jack Videira Jr., Mia and Sienna and his adored great grandson, Luca Giambazi, his siblings, Floriano (Carminda), Mary (Nuno), Rosa (David), Gloria, Theresa (Domingoes), Marina, Tony (Zulmira), John (Quina), his sister-in-law, Maria Videira and Pat Festa as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his in-laws, John and Perpetua Netto, brother, Julio, sister Dalva Gomes and several brothers and sisters-in-law.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 30, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Lawrence Church, 505 Shelton Ave., Shelton. Interment will follow in Huntington Lawn Cemetery South. Friends may greet the family on Tuesday morning in the church beginning at 10:00 a.m. until the time of mass.
