Obituary of Susan Tragianese Cecchini
In Loving Memory of Susan (Tragianese) Cecchini
Susan (Tragianese) Cecchini, age 99, of Bridgeport, passed away peacefully on July 23, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late James Cecchini. Born in Bridgeport on April 23, 1926, Susan was the daughter of the late Carmine and Maria (Costanzo) Tragianese. A woman of deep Catholic faith, Susan was a devoted parishioner of St. Margaret Shrine, where she was known and loved. Susan worked for many years at the Dictaphone Company and enjoyed traveling, especially wintering in Florida as a proud “snowbird.” She was a wonderful cook, and her cherished Christmas Eve Feast of the Seven Fishes remains a treasured family tradition. Susan loved to dance and had a gift for decorating that brightened every room she entered. She was a devoted sister, aunt, and friend, whose kind heart and joyful spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Susan is survived by her loving sister, Helene Tragianese, and her brother, Carmine Tragianese, Jr., both of Bridgeport, her sister-in-law, Rose Traggianese of Shelton, along with many nieces, nephews. She was predeceased by her husband James, her brothers, Anthony Tragianese, Robert Traggianese, Raphael Traggianese and sisters, Mary Rose Grillo, Theresa Soule and Shirley Kostecki.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, July 28, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Margaret Shrine, 2523 Park Ave., Bridgeport. Interment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull.
