Obituary of Anthony Cavalli

Anthony Cavalli, age 88, of Bridgeport, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 26, 2025 with his loving family by his side. Born in Clinton, MA on March 26, 1937, he was a son of the late Angelo and Carmella Nappi Cavalli. Tony was a retired employee of Sikorsky Aircraft.

A loving and outgoing person, he enjoyed spending his time at Augustana Homes in the community room with his friends, especially Choo Ayala, talking sports and sharing laughs. Tony made many friendships during his time at Augustana. In the warmer months, he could often be found at Seaside Park walking east to west four times daily and in the winter months at the Trumbull Mall. After his walks in the mall, he would take the time to stop at Sports Fever Memorabilia and spend time with his friend Mike. A sports enthusiast, he was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys, Cincinnati Reds and some of his favorite athletes were, Billy Martin, Pete Rose and Mickey Mantle. He continued his baseball passion and was an honorary member of the Vieques Baseball Team in the Spanish league at Seaside Park and Went Field. He spent countless weekends watching his friends play and was given a championship ring when they won.

But above all things he was a dedicated father and grandfather. He loved spending time with his family, especially his granddaughters, creating memories to last a life-time. He could often be found at his son's house tending to the landscaping and playing with the dogs. The unconditional love he gave and the values he taught will forever live in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. Anthony will be deeply missed.

Survivors include his loving son, Anthony Cavalli and his wife Theresa, two cherished and adored granddaughters, Brittany and Carissa Cavalli, two sisters and a brother, Eleanor Paternoster, Salvatore "Tootsie" Cavalli and his wife Rita and Rose Marie Cavalli, brother-in-law, Donald Gabriel and his wife Connie, as well as several nieces, nephews and many dear friends. Tony was predeceased by two sisters, Carol Ruggiero and Camille Gabriel, a brother, Angelo Cavalli Jr. and brothers-in-law, William Paternoster and John Ruggiero.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 2, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. directly in St. Andrew's Church, 435 Anton St. Bridgeport. Interment will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Monroe.
