Obituary of Robert J. Thompson, Jr.

Robert J. Thompson, Jr., age 62, of Easton passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 5, 2025 at St. Vincent’s Medical Center. Born in Norwalk on December 10, 1962, he was the son of Barbara (Giovagnoli) Thompson of Easton and the late Robert J. Thompson, Sr.

Robert had worked in the family business, House and Garden Shop of Stamford, where he utilized his knowledge of power equipment service, repair and sales for many years. He had also worked in a similar capacity at Brandman’s Power Equipment in Norwalk, where he built many friendships along the way. Rob loved to cook and was a true outdoorsman, finding great enjoyment in camping and hunting. He was the guy that others enjoyed being around and gravitated towards him. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his loving mother, Barbara, other family members include his loving and devoted children, Erica L. Thompson of Milford and Robert J. Thompson, III and his wife Kristin of Fairbanks, AK, his soon to be adored granddaughter, Casey Rae Thompson, his sister, Lisa Grant and her husband Edward of Boca Raton, FL, his cherished nephews, Michael Grant and his fiancé Nicole McMeekin of Shelton and Stephen Grant of Brookfield, as well as his former wife, Trish Thompson of Milford.
