Obituary of Emanuele DiPietro
Emanuele (Willie) DiPietro, age 87, of Bridgeport entered peacefully into eternal rest in his home on January 9, 2025 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Introdacqua, Province of Aquila, Italy on December 1, 1937, he was the son of the late Berardino and Floriana DiPietro. He was also predeceased by his adoring wife Laura DiPietro, cherished in-laws, Antonio and Rosina D’Andrea, his devoted sister Anetta LoStrappo, and two brothers-in-law, Remo Spezza and Domenico LoStrappo. Emanuele was a Bridgeport resident since 1956 and retired from Bullard Trio Industries and Housing and Urban Development. Emanuele was a highly skilled carpenter. His meticulous attention to detail was clearly demonstrated in his workmanship. He was always ready and willing to lend a helping hand to family and friends when needed. He was an avid gardener who truly loved tending to his various vegetables. He had an enormous fig tree that produced an abundance of figs that were shared with family and friends throughout the years. He was a parish member of St. Margaret Shrine, where he attended Mass weekly with his family. He enjoyed watching and listening to Opera as well as his Italian programs on TV. Emanuele was truly a devoted husband, an endearing father and grandfather and a loyal brother, uncle and friend. He was truly a pillar of strength for his family and his memory will live on in our hearts.
Survivors include his three loving daughters, Michelle DiPietro of Stamford, Roseann Sutay and her husband Robert of Oxford and AnnMarie Brown and her husband Collier of Bridgeport, three treasured grandchildren, Christopher Sutay and his wife Sara of Oxford, Wilfred Villanova of Bridgeport and Jeffrey Sutay of Oxford, as well as his devoted sister Gina Spezza and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, January 15, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. directly in St. Margaret Shrine, 2523 Park Ave., Bridgeport. Entombment will follow in the Garden Mausoleum of St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may greet the family on Tuesday evening from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull.
