Obituary of Joseph R. Piccolo, Jr.

Joseph R. Piccolo Jr. 80, of Fort Pierce, Florida passed away at his home on September 21, 2018. He was born on September 29,1937 in Bridgeport, CT to the late Joseph and Eleanor (Lanese) Piccolo.

Joseph is survived by his loving wife of 59 years Rose (Burian) Piccolo and his children Joseph R. Piccolo III (Kim) of Trumbull, Michele Ardito of Branford, Noelle Winters (Jason) of Guilford and Joelle Ferreone (Anthony) of Vero Beach, FL. He will be greatly missed by his seven grandchildren, Marissa and Joseph Piccolo, Sarah and Donald Ardito, Chloe Winters and Alyssa and Alanna Ferreone. Brothers Kenneth (Deborah), Thomas (Paula) and John (Lisa) Piccolo, brother-in-law Michael Burian (Maureen) and former son-in-law Donald Ardito. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. .

Joseph was a graduate of Milford High School Class of 1955. During his career as a Technical Illustrator he worked for many companies including Sikorsky Aircraft, Avco and Data Products. Joseph was a loving husband to the love of his life Rose and was proud of the 59 years they were married. Joseph had many skills and will be remembered for his vast knowledge of many subjects and as an "Armchair Jeopardy Champion", "Unofficial FOX News Commentator" and New England Patriots football fan. He was a martial arts expert/instructor in all areas and enjoyed passing on this knowledge to others.  In addition to this, Joseph was talented in woodcarving, sketching, painting and had a large antique camera collection at one time totaling over 300 cameras, which he loved to display and catalogue. Joseph also loved riding his motorcycle so much he even drove it through the winter.  

Joseph's family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday, October 2, 2018 from 4 - 8 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd, Trumbull. A Prayer service will take place at 7:00 p.m. in the Funeral Home. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to a charity of one’s choice.
