Obituary of Elvina D'Ausilio

Loving Mother, Grandmother and Friend Cesira Elvina (Scinto) DAusilio, age 76, of Stratford, entered into rest on Monday, September 18, 2006 at the Connecticut Hospice in Branford with her loving family at her side. Born in Bridgeport on Fenraury 6, 1930 to the late Peter and Mamie (Scarduzio) Scinto in Bridgeport, Connecticut, Elvina was a resident of Bridgeport most of her life before moving to Stratford in 1991. Known as Elvina to friends and family, she was a loving mother and grandmother and a friend to many. She was a stay-at-home mom and dedicated over 50 years of her life to her husband, John and her four children. The wonderful job she did is reflected in the character of her children today. She provided a stable and loving home for her family throughout the years. She was an expert seamstress and made most of her own clothes and window treatments in her home. She was an active member of the Marchegiana Ladies Society, Oronoque House and Garden Club and the Council of Italian-American Societies. After her children were grown, she and her husband loved to travel extensively and went to many places in Europe and the Caribbean as well as throughout the United States. Elvina helped support many charities, one of which was adopting a needy family for Christmas. In addition to her husband, Elvina is survived by a daughter, Deborah Pfeifer and her husband, Richard of Bridgeport, three sons, John L. DAusilio and his wife, Terry of Delaplane, VA, David DAusilio and his wife, Terrie of Shelton and Anthony DAusilio and his wife, Nancy of Newtown, seven loving grandchildren, Richard Pfeifer, Cindy Pfeifer, John Lawrence DAusilio, Ian DAusilio, Christopher DAusilio, Cori Ann DAusilio and Rachel Ann DAusilio; two great grandchildren, Meghan and Richard Pfeifer; two sisters, Lucy Rizzo and her husband, Salvatore of Bridgeport and Laura DAndrea of Shelton, a brother, Peter Scinto of Bridgeport. Friends are invited to meet directly in St. Margaret Mary Church, 380 Long Hill Ave., Shelton on Friday, September 22, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Shelton. Funeral Information Family and friends may call on Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at The Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
