Obituary of George E. Cherry
George E. Cherry, age 90, of Trumbull, a retired supervisor at Raybestos with 42 years of service, died on Monday, January 9, 2006 at his residence. Born in Bridgeport on March 15, 1915, he was a son of the late James Alexander and Nellie Veronica Burke Cherry. Mr. Cherry was a past member of the Board of Trustees of Long Hill United Methodist Church, a member of the Mens Group and the Quarter Century Club at Raybestos. He also volunteered in the honor court at the Golden Hill Street Court House. He was pre-deceased by his wife, Emma Tuttle Sherwood Cherry and two brothers, Robert and James Cherry. Survivors include a daughter, Dorothy Mills and her husband, William of Trumbull, a sister, Nellie Cordone of Lakeworth, FL, three grandchildren, Christine Nicholson of Stratford, Robert Nicholson and his wife, Susan of Stratford and Cheryl Nicholson of New York, NY as well as many nieces and nephews. Friends are invited to attend a memorial service meeting directly in Long Hill United Methodist Church, 6358 Main St., Trumbull on Friday, January 13, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. Private Interment services will be in Lawncroft Cemetery, Fairfield. There will be no calling hours. Donations Information
