Obituary of Joseph J. Viadero

Resident of Bridgeport, Connecticut Joseph J. Viadero, age 77, of Bridgeport, Connecticut, died on Monday, March 13, 2006 in St. Vincent Medical Center. Born in Bridgeport on July 26, 1928, he was a son of the late Jose Mato and Encarnacion Calvo Viadero. He attended local schools in Bridgeport and enlisted in the U. S. Army serving in the Pacific Theater and the Phillipines from 1945 to 1947, attaining the rank of PFC before being honorably discharged. He was a lifelong resident of Bridgeport and was employed at Remington Arms for 35 years as a machinist, retiring in 1984, as a member of the Quarter Century Club. He was a parishioner of St. Margarets Shrine and a member of their Holy Name Society. He was an active member of the VFW Harris-Rogers Post #145 and was a former vice commander of the American Legion Harry Condon Post. His hobbies included traveling, military history and attending his grandsons athletic events. Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Carmen Lavin Viadero, two sons, Dr. Joseph Viadero and his wife, Anna of Montague, MA and James Viadero and his wife, Kimberly of Newtown, CT, two grandsons, Jason and Dominic of Montague, a brother, Angelo Viadero and his wife, Mary of Bridgeport, four nieces, Nancy DAntonio, Linda DiPalma, Jean Canuel and Gail Scinto. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Thursday, March 16, 2006 at 8:00 a.m. from the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, CT and at 9:00 a.m. in St. Margarets Shrine, Bridgeport for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment with military honors will follow in Mountain Grove Cemetery, Bridgeport.
