Samir M. Eladawy, age 86, of Trumbull, beloved husband of Simone (Boulos) Eladawy, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 29, 2021 at his home. Born in Cairo, Egypt on December 27, 1934, he was a son of the late Mohamed and Hekmat (Tewfik) Eladawy.
Samir had a long, successful career as an Electrical Engineer in both Egypt and New York City. He took great pride and had a knack for fixing cars. He also enjoyed exercising and often took long walks outdoors each day. He had a great sense of humor and could bring an instant smile to anyone’s face. Samir will best be remembered for being the kindest husband, best father and father-in-law, grandfather, brother, uncle and greatest friend. He loved spending time with his family and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his beloved wife of 56 years, Simone, other survivors include his loving children, Sharif Eladawy and his wife Margaret of Westport and Janine Eladawy-Burgos and her wife Annette of Trumbull, cherished granddaughters, Julianne Summer Eladawy, Angelina Annette, Jaileen, and grandson Luis, his adored great granddaughter, Melani, two brothers, Abdelrahman Eladawy and his wife Mervet of Cairo, Egypt, Mostafa Eladawy and his wife Magda of Knoxville, TN, a sister, Anissa Hussien of Cairo, Egypt, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings, Hosni, Ahmad, Sami and Zeineb.
A walk-through visitation will take place on Tuesday, June 1, 2021 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull. Visitors are asked to wear masks and social distance as they walk through, pay their respects, and exit without lingering to ensure all guests can come through the building. A prayer service will take place at 6:30 p.m. in the funeral home. Interment will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
