Obituary of Kenneth J. Root

Kenneth J. Root, age 66 of Trumbull, beloved husband of Vera Cocco, passed away peacefully at St. Joseph's Manor in Trumbull on April 14, 2018. Born on January 11, 1952 in Bridgeport, he was a son of the late Louis and Olga Fritz Root. Ken served with pride as a Pumper Engineer with the City of Bridgeport Fire Department for over 25 years. He was a loving husband, brother, uncle, and friend who will be truly missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his wife Vera of 18 years, Kenneth is survived by his sister, Denise Weston of Seymour; his nephew Robert Weston, Jr.; and several other nieces and nephews; as well as his canine companion, Paco.

Funeral services will take place on Thursday, April 19, 2018 at 9:00 a.m. from the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull and at 10:00 a.m. in Christ the King Church, Trumbull for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family. Friends may greet the family on Wednesday from 4-7 pm.
