Obituary of Pasqualina Pagliaroli

Pasqualina (“Patty”) Labagnara Pagliaroli, age 84, of Trumbull, beloved wife of the late Amerigo Pagliaroli, died peacefully on Friday, April 6, 2018. Born in Guardia Sanframondi, Province of Benevento, Italy on July 20, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Carlo Labagnara and Rosina Pengue. Pasqualina emigrated to the United States in 1952 and in 1964 she became a U.S. Citizen, a moment which she held as one of her most fulfilling as she was always proud to be an American.  She began her working career at Howie Mfg. Co. in Bridgeport, CT and later worked at St. Vincent’s Medical Center in patient transportation until her retirement.

A woman who reveled in simplicity, she enjoyed the purest pleasures in life. She loved the company of her family and enjoyed cooking for them every Sunday evening for decades.  She provided unconditional love and support through a quiet and elegant dignity.  She enjoyed the successes of her daughter and grandchildren. The love she gave, the values she instilled and memories created will forever live on in their hearts. Pasqualina possessed a fervent and unshakable Catholic faith.  She always had a meaningful or instructive saying for everything which was always preceded by “I don’t know how this translates into English…”

Survivors include her beloved daughter Rosemary Pagliaroli Collins and her husband, Attorney Kevin F. Collins of Easton, three cherished grandchildren formerly of Easton, Caitlin Pasqualina of New York City, Kevin Amerigo of Stamford, CT, and Cassandra Rose of Boston, MA; loving sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Sue and Phil Ferrari, both of Trumbull, Angelina and Remo Pagliarella, Emma (deceased) and Adelmo Lia, Ida and Enrico Cristini (both deceased), all of Stratford; cherished nephew and nieces, Jean Cicchiello Rich, of Monroe, Emma Cicchiello Reinwald and Mary Ann Cicchiello Perry, both of Trumbull, Pasquale, Angelina and Nadia Garafano, all of Caserta, Italy; as well as many beloved great nieces and nephews and many friends here in the United States and abroad. She also leaves to cherish her memory her best friend and canine companion, Angus, who was always by her side for ten years.

She was pre-deceased by her five siblings, Teresa Labagnara, (Sister Celina) Mother General of the Order of Povere Figlie di Sant’ Antonio (the Sisters of St. Anthony) Worldwide Order in Rome, Giuseppina, Emma, Lisa Cicchiello of Bridgeport and Pasquale Labagnara, and by her nephews, Angelo Mancini, of Rome, Italy and Filippo Garafano, Caserta, Italy.

Relatives and friends may greet the family on Friday from 4-7 p.m.  Funeral services will take place on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull, and at 11:00 a.m. in St. Theresa Church, 5301 Main St. Trumbull, for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Mt. Grove Cemetery, Easton.

Those desiring to make memorial contributions may do so to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to the School Sisters of Notre Dame, 345 Belden Hill Rd., Wilton, CT 06897.
