Obituary of Aimee Chiodo

Aimee C. Gray Chiodo, age 91, of Stratford passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 24, 2018 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of Richard G. Chiodo. Born in Baltimore, MD, on September 9, 1926, she was a daughter of the late George E. and Olive Earle Gray. Family hospitality was her greatest attribute and she was known for being the "social director" of large family gatherings that were always held at her home. She was the inventor of themed birthday parties and was renowned for never missing a birthday card to anyone on their special day. She loved square dancing, ceramics and knitting. She also was an avid bowler and her skill at solving the crossword puzzles found in USA Today on a daily basis was remarkable. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. In addition to her beloved husband of 74 years, Richard, other survivors include her six loving children, Richard J. Chiodo and his wife Sharron of The Villages, FL, George Chiodo and his wife June of Trumbull, Virginia Chiodo Walsh of Inverness, FL, Charles Chiodo and his wife Josephine of Stratford, Garrett Chiodo of Hardy, AR and Christina Provenzano and her husband Marten of Stratford. She is also survived by 19 grandchildren, over 20 great grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Shirley Patterson, her brother, George Gray and her son-in-law, Patrick J. Walsh. Friends may greet the family on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull followed by a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Interment will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
