Obituary of Walter A. Tommasi Sr.

Walter A. Tommasi, Sr., age 86, beloved husband of the late Claire Perroni Tommasi and longtime resident of Trumbull, passed away peacefully on March 19, 2018 at St. Vincent's Medical Center. Born on November 30, 1931 in Bridgeport, he was a son of the late Antonio and Anna Luigia Capra Tommasi. After high school, Walter served with pride and honor in the United States Navy, serving aboard the U.S.S Grand Canyon. Prior to his retirement, he was a machinist for Fairfield Tool & Die. Walter was a longtime member of the Knights of Columbus, enjoyed spending time at the Trumbull Senior Center, and was a longtime member of the Sulpabino Club in Bridgeport. He was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, and brother who will be truly missed by all who knew him. Walter is survived by his two sons, Walter Tommasi Jr. and his wife Kathy of Austin, TX and Gregory Tommasi and his wife Kiersten of Shelton; his four adored grandchildren, Amanda, Jake, Kevin, and Brady Tommasi; his brother Urbano Tommasi of Milford and sister Nilla DiCenzo of Bridgeport; as well as many nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, March 23, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Theresa Church, 5301 Main Street Trumbull. Interment will follow in the St. Monica Mausoleum at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Thursday, March 22, 2018 from 4-7 p.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
