Obituary of Laura C. Machado

Laura Machado, age 94, of Milford, beloved wife of the late João Machado, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Born on March 7, 1923 in Fairhaven, MA she was a daughter of the late Antonio DaSilva and Conceicão Barroso.

A hardworking woman, Laura enjoyed the simple things in life. She treasured when her entire family was together. Her smile could light up a room when her grandchildren and great grandchildren were around her. She was always full of life and the unconditional love she provided will always be in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her six loving children, Maria Machado, Angie Alves and her husband George, Joe Machado and his wife Fernanda, Eddie Machado and his wife Maria, Luis Machado and his wife Lucia, and Belmira Santo and her husband Anibal, two daughters-in-law, Albina Machado and Fernanda Machado, 23 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sons, Antonio and Orlando Machado, two grandsons, Luis Martins and Fred Machado, a brother Frank DaSilva, a sister Anna DaSilva and a daughter-in-law Tina Machado.

Funeral services will take place on Monday, February 26, 2018 at 8:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 9:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Fatima Church, Bridgeport for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Sunday from 1 – 5 p.m.
