Obituary of Anthony A. Tragianese

Anthony A. Tragianese, age 94, of Shelton passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at St. Vincent's Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of the late Angelina Renzi Tragianese. Born in Bridgeport on March 31, 1923 he was a son of the late Carmen and Maria Archina Costanzo Traggianese. A graduate of Harding High School, Anthony then served his country honorably in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was the owner and operator of Traggianese Brothers Construction for many years where his masonry and carpentry skills and abilities were showcased. Anthony loved gardening and was also a huge history buff. He also found great enjoyment horseback riding and watching westerns. He was a member of the Port 5 Club, where he was also an accomplished amateur vocalist. A loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, he will be missed by all who knew him. Survivors include his loving sons, Donald Tragianese and his wife Wendy of Crystal Lake, IL and Mark Tragianese and his wife Nora of Shelton, three cherished grandchildren, Nancy Alves and her husband Tony of Shelton and Christina Tragianese and Angela Tragianese, both of Crystal Lake, IL, two adored great grandchildren, Marlee and Leo, as well as his brothers and sisters, Robert Traggianese and his wife Rose, Susan Cecchini, Helen Traggianese, Carmen Traggianese, Jr and Shirley Kostecki, all of Bridgeport. In addition to his wife, he was also predeceased by his son, Anthony A. Tragianese, Jr., his brother, Raphael Traggianese and his sisters, Mary Rose Grillo and Theresa Soule. Friends may greet the family on Tuesday, February 13, 2018 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. in St. Margaret Shrine, 2523 Park Ave., Bridgeport. Interment with military honors will follow in St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford.
