Obituary of Neil DeAngelo

Neil DeAngelo, age 73, beloved husband of Barbara Spellman DeAngelo of Monroe, passed away on Monday, January 29, 2018 at St. Vincent's Medical Center with his family by his side. Born in Bridgeport on November 2, 1944, he was a son of the late Ed and Millie Plesce DeAngelo and was a longtime resident of Monroe. Neil was proud to have served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Before his retirement he was a project manager at PerkinElmer with over 40 years of dedicated service. While living at the Northbrook Condos, he was an active member and treasurer of the association for many years. Neil was also a devoted fan of UConn women's basketball. In addition to his wife of 50 years Barbara, survivors include two loving children, Edward DeAngelo and his wife Cynthia of Virginia Beach, VA and Wendy Fuchs and her husband Kurt of Burlington, CT a brother, Richard DeAngelo and his wife Gail of Stratford, two grandsons, Ethan and Aaron Fuchs and two great grandchildren, Tyler and Kylie as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, Neil Michael DeAngelo, as well as his brother, Jerry DeAngelo and sister-in-law Barbara DeAngelo. Neil's loyalty, kindness and keen sense of humor endeared him to many and he will be greatly missed by a large extended family and many lifelong friends. A Funeral Service will take place on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. in the Trumbull Congregational Church, 3115 Reservoir Ave., Trumbull. Interment with full military honors will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements in care of the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
