Obituary of Albert J. Moncovich Sr.

Albert J. Moncovich Sr., age 89, of Stratford, beloved husband of the late Eleanor Charlotte (El) Gould Moncovich, passed away on Saturday, January 27, 2018 in Bridgeport Hospital with his loving family by his side. Born in Edwardsville, PA, he was a son of the late Emil Sr., and Helen Ortutai Moncovich. A U.S. Navy veteran of WW II, Albert was a retired tool and die inspector at Sikorsky Aircraft, and was a member of the American Legion Post 0200 in Rocky Hill. Albert enjoyed the simple things in life. He loved woodworking, camping, the outdoors and could often be found surfing the web on his computer. He was always there to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. But of all these things in life, the most treasured was time spent with family. The memories they created will live on in their hearts forever. He will be truly missed. Survivors include his four children, Sharon Riccio and her husband James, Albert Moncovich Jr. and his wife Gail, Janice Moncovich (Jason) and Anthony J. Moncovich, five grandchildren, James K. Murphy, Angela S. Murphy, Justin A. Murphy, John T. Riccio and Elias Moncovich, six great grandchildren, Kevin, Julia, Riley, Eire, Aaron and Nicholas, beloved cousins, Eleanor and Marian, dear friends, Annie and Norman, as well as nieces and nephews. He also leaves his feline companion Randy. He was predeceased by his brother Emil Moncovich Jr. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Doctors and staff of the MICU at Bridgeport Hospital and his aides; Kiki, Doreen, Bella, Maggie and Samantha, for the care and professionalism shown to Albert. Friends services will take place on Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull and at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Grace Church, 497 Second Hill Lane, Stratford for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment with military honors will follow in Lakeview Cemetery, Bridgeport.
