Obituary of Donald L. Creatore

Donald Lawrence Creatore, beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother, entered into the loving arms of our Lord suddenly on January 14th, 2018.

He was born in Bridgeport, CT, the son of the late Paul and Delia Soda Creatore and was a resident of Trumbull for over 40 years.

Don is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Elaine Blados Creatore, and his devoted son Marc Creatore, his wife Erin and his adoring grandchildren, Abigail and Brady, of Chatham, NJ. He is also survived by his sisters, Judith Creatore, Mary Jo Creatore and Webb Miller of Bridgeport and Wilma Creatore of Fairfield; his sister-in-law Delores Creatore of Milford and his nephews Jason (wife Tracy, son Brendan) and Thomas Creatore; sister-in-law Joyce McNulty and niece Lori of Stratford, CT. He was predeceased by his brother Paul Creatore, brother-in-law Greg McNulty and sister-in-law Patricia Borucki.

A graduate of Bullard-Havens Technical School, Don was the owner and sole proprietor of his business, Donald L. Creatore Plumbing and Heating, for over 30 years. While successful in business and an avid, lifelong baseball fan, he committed his life to his family, his faith and serving the community.

Don was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 2961 where he held the title of Deputy Grand Knight since 1999. He served as a eucharistic minister at St. Theresa's Church and was a daily communicant. In 2011, Don was an honored recipient of the prestigious St. Augustine Medal of Service award. In perhaps his most memorable achievement, Don was instrumental as the successful litigant in a 1995 case that reached the U.S. Supreme Court, where he fought to protect the right to display a nativity scene at Christmas time on public property on the Trumbull Town Hall green.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. directly in St. Theresa Church, 5301 Main St., Trumbull. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Friday from 4 – 8 p.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Americares, 88 Hamilton Ave., Stamford, CT 06902. (www.americares.org).
