Obituary of Anthony R. Petrucelli

Anthony R. Petrucelli, age 89, of Shelton, and formerly of Bridgeport, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 4, 2018 at St. Vincent's Medical Center, Bridgeport surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Janet Wilcox Petrucelli. Born in Bridgeport on December 1, 1928, he was a son of the late Antonio and Carmella Riccio Petrucelli. Mr. Petrucelli had been employed by the City of Bridgeport as a firefighter before his retirement as Deputy Chief with 36 years of dedicated service. A member of the Shelton Senior Center, he treasured the many friendships he gained while attending. He loved ballroom dancing, traveling, boating and dining out. His greatest enjoyment, however, was found in the time he spent with his family. A loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his beloved wife of 70 years, Janet, he is survived by his loving children, Janet Baldwin and her husband Eli James, Jr. of Shelton, Robert Petrucelli and his wife Nancy of Trumbull, Dane Petrucelli and his partner Jane of Vernon and Jacalyn Petrucelli Gonzalez and her partner Mark of East Haven, six cherished grandchildren, Eli James Baldwin III, Toni Lynn Pannella and her husband Dennis, Jillian Gibson and her husband James, Robert Petrucelli and his wife Daniela, Johnna Wallace and her husband John, and Danielle Gonzalez and her partner Paul, seven adored great grandchildren, Eli Thomas, Madeline, Logan, Maxwell, Rory, Bryce and Cole, his sister Evelyn Manjoney of Orange, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sisters, Martha D'Apice and Laura Elias and his brother, Patrick Petrucelli.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. directly in St. Lawrence Church, 505 Shelton Ave., Shelton for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Nichols Village Cemetery, Trumbull. Friends may greet the family on Monday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull.
