Obituary of Irma Frances Muzsi

Irma Francis Muzsi, age 78, beloved wife of Joseph Nicholas Muzsi of Easton, passed away on Friday, December 22, 2017 at her home. Born in New Brunswick, NJ on March 5, 1939, she was a daughter of the late John L. Canfield and Clothilde Hopfenzitz Canfield and was a longtime resident of Easton. Irma earned her degree as a registered nurse and worked at New Jersey area hospitals and a pediatrician's office before getting married and moving to Connecticut to start raising her family. When she was not helping others, she was actively involved with the Methodist church and enjoyed spending time at New Jersey shore, or reminiscing about past times on the shore. In addition to her husband Joseph of 47 years, survivors include two loving sons, Peter Muzsi and his wife Tamara Toth of Stamford and Andrew Muzsi and his wife Tara of New Hope, PA, a brother, John Canfield and his wife Fran of Center Sandwich, NH and three cherished grandchildren, Tyler, Kayla and Zoe as well as many nieces and nephews in New Hampshire. Friends are invited to attend a funeral service at Golden Hill United Methodist Church, 210 Elm St., Bridgeport on Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at 12:00 p.m. Friends may greet the family at the church from 11:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull.
