Obituary of Leonard R. Caseria Jr.

Leonard R. Caseria Jr., age 89, of Bridgeport, a retired sales representative for Stratford Builder Supply, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, December 2, 2017 at St. Vincent's Medical Center. Born in Bridgeport on July 21, 1928, he was the son of the late Martha and Leonard R. Caseria Sr. Len was a graduate of Warren Harding High School, a U.S. Army veteran and an accomplished jazz drummer, who from 1940-1960 played in local Connecticut lounges. Len was a dedicated parishioner at St. Margaret's Shrine and served as an usher for many years. He was most happy when watching old movies, looking through family photos and reminiscing of happy days gone by. He was a kind and generous man, who was loved and respected by all who knew him. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Antoinette (Toni) Pavia Caseria and two brothers, Phillip M. and Pasquale A. Caseria.

 

Survivors include four sisters-in-law, Dorothy Caseria, Rose Gresch, Elizabeth DePeano and Dorothy Pavia, brother-in-law, Anthony D'Ostilio, three nephews, Leonard P. Caseria, Patrick P. Caseria., and Phillip R. Caseria, a niece, Linda Caseria, great nephew, Phillip Caseria, and many additional nieces and nephews. Uncle Leo will be truly missed by all but mostly by his "niece" Jaime DeCiucis, who was his loving care giver.

 

Funeral services will take place on Friday, December 8, 2017 at 9:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 10:00 a.m. in St. Margaret's Shrine, Bridgeport for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery, Stratford. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Thursday from 4 – 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Margaret's Shrine, 2523 Park Ave, Bridgeport, CT 06604.
