Obituary of Ralph N. Paternoster

Ralph N. Paternoster, Sr., age 91, of Bridgeport passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, November 5, 2017. He was the beloved husband of the late Rosetta Ozzi Paternoster. Born in Bridgeport on August 20, 1926, he was a son of the late Ralph and Lydia Indaco Paternoster. A proud U.S. Army Veteran of World War II, he had served honorably in the Philippines. He later became the owner of Ralph's Welding, formerly of Bridgeport before his retirement with many years of dedicated service. He was a member of the Local Welders Union and some of his enjoyments included tending to his garden and cooking. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and brother who will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Survivors include his four children, Virginia Re and her husband Matt and Julie Nicolett and her husband Mark, both of Monroe, and Ralph Paternoster, Jr. and Nancy Lipari, both of Bridgeport, his brothers, William Paternoster and his wife Eleanor and Nicholas Paternoster and his wife Lynda and his sisters, Carol Belchick and her husband Gene and Martha Cennamo and her husband Jack, as well as eight grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his beloved wife Rosetta, he was also predeceased by his son and daughter-in-law, John and Linda Paternoster and brothers and sisters, Michael, Louis, Mary, Virginia, Joseph, George, Richard, Albert, Barbara and Theresa. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 9, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull and at 11:00 a.m. in St. Andrew Church, Bridgeport for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment with military honors will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Friends may greet the family on Thursday morning beginning at 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
