Obituary of Oluwadare L. Alli-Balogun

In Loving Memory of Our Beloved Father

Oluwadare Ligali Alli-Balogun, (April 11, 1947) of West Haven passed away on Saturday, October 7, 2017 at the age of 70. He was born in Ogun state Nigeria to the late Alh Mustapha Alli-balogun and Adunni Sifau Adebanjo. He was a custom officer, entrepreneur, philanthropist, motivational speaker, and an illustrious father.

Our father was a great warrior, who was trustworthy, jovial, happy, exceptional, loving, caring, humble and most of all, very religious. God was always his priority, and he passed this onto his children. He was very supportive, non-judgmental, and went the extra mile for his children and relatives. He also participated in community services, school inter house sports, Police Community Relations, etc.

Before his passing, his ongoing plans include: building a community library, creating an adult education program, sport center, donation of books and sporting equipment to schools. He also intended to help improve the Nigerian economy, but unfortunately, he did not live long enough to accomplish all these missions.

Our dad preached hard work, which he buttresses with a quote from Henry Wadsworth, "the height that great men reached and kept were not attained by sudden plight, but they, while their companions slept, were toiling upward in the night." Overall, his most valuable principle that he teaches to everyone (including his children) which he learned through life experiences was "Ranti Omo Eni ti Iwo n se" which means remember the child of whom you are.

He was survived by his children, Oludare Alli-Balogun, Oluseyi Alli-Balogun, Modupe (Alli-Balogun) Oshin, Olusola Alli-Balogun, Monsurat Alli-Balogun, Taofeek Alli-Balogun, Oluwatosin Alli-Balogun, Oluwarotimi Alli-Balogun Anuoluwa Alli-Balogun and Oluwasanmi Alli-Balogun.

Grandchildren Shayna Alli-Balogun, Shamaya Alli-Balogun, Zion Alli-Balogun, Tolani Oshin, Lolade Oshin, Kiera Alli-Balogun, Riley Alli-Balogun, Aaron Alli-Balogun, Abdul-Malik Omotayo, sisters, brothers, friends and other relatives.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at 12:00 noon in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, CT.
