Obituary of Larry Russick

Larry Russick, age 67, of Bridgeport passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 1, 2017 at CT Hospice in Branford. He was the beloved husband of Helen Brown Russick. Larry was born in Chicago, IL, on June 30, 1950. He was a son of the late Frank and Rose Rauchwarter Russick. Most recently, Larry was employed by the University of Bridgeport and Gateway Community College as an Adjunct Professor. Before this, however, he was quite the entrepreneur having various skills and talents. He also owned and operated his own window and carpet cleaning service for a time. He was a professional clown and was the entertainment at numerous social functions. An intelligent man with a mechanical mind and a true people person, he loved to share his knowledge with others. He taught science to preschoolers and was extremely proud to have been a published author. He was a spiritual person and turned to meditation in his twenties, which continued to play an important role in his life. A true outdoorsman, he enjoyed hiking, canoeing, and rock climbing – especially at Yosemite National Park. He was a loving and devoted husband and father.

In addition to his beloved wife Helen of 39 years, other survivors include his three loving children, Patrick Russick, Madeleine E. Russick and Brian M. Russick, all of Bridgeport, his ten brothers and sisters, Cathy, Bern, Char, Greg, Diane, Nettie, Chris, Phil, Andy and Moe, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends may greet the family on Friday, October 6th, 2017 from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull. Words of remembrance will be shared beginning at 1:00 p.m. Interment will be held privately at the convenience of the family.

Friends and family are welcome to send flowers or contribute to The Kennedy Center, a disability service organization in Trumbull, Connecticut, that was dear to his heart.
