Obituary of Helen Beck Mitri

Helen Beck Mitri, age 89, of Trumbull, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, September 17, 2017 surrounded by her family.  Helen was born on February 5, 1928 and was a daughter of the late Louis Beck and Anna Nazro Beck of Danbury.   She graduated from Danbury High School and worked in the payroll department of Mallory Hats and Davis & Geck. Helen married her husband, Joseph Mitri, in 1956, and in 1957 they moved to Trumbull, where they raised their family.  Helen dedicated her life to her family and enjoyed spending  time with them and cooking for them. She was an excellent cook who loved to entertain, especially on the holidays.  Helen also enjoyed crocheting gifts for family and friends.   Helen and Joseph traveled frequently and enjoyed many vacations as they traveled the world together.

Survivors include her loving and devoted husband of 61 years,  Joseph,  three sons, Joseph  Jr. and his wife Alice of Trumbull, Daniel of Albany, NY and Louis and his wife Regina of Monroe, seven grandchildren,  Christopher  Mitri and his wife Melissa, Thomas Mitri and his wife Amy, Michael Mitri, Jonathan Mitri, Jennifer and her husband Justin Williamson, Rachel Mitri and Nicole Mitri and three great grandchildren, She is also survived by her sister, Julie Heering of Bethel and several nieces and nephews.  Helen was predeceased by her daughter, Jo Ann, and her sister Adele Molinaro of Danbury.

Calling hours will be from 5 -8 PM on Monday, September 18, 2017 at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home,  419 White Plains Road, Trumbull with a Trisagion Service at 7 PM.  A funeral service will commence on Tuesday at 10:00 AM directly at the St. Nicholas Antiochian Orthodox Church, 5458 Park Avenue, Bridgeport with Father Romanos Maloof officiating. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull.
