Obituary of Mary Laezzo

Mary (Migliore) Laezzo, age 95, of Bridgeport, passed away July 19, 2017 at St. Vincent's Medical Center, Bridgeport. Mary was born in Bridgeport, CT, August 26, 1921, daughter of the late John and Angelina Migliore. Living in Bridgeport, Mary loved spending time with her family. She worked at Harvey Hubbell and Sikorsky Aircraft until her retirement. Mary loved to laugh and make other people laugh. She was patient and kind, always making sure that everyone was taken care of, well-fed, and happy. Mary's sharp sense of humor made her a family favorite. "Aunt Mary" always found a way to keep the grandkids of her seven brothers and sisters in stitches, and loved to be surrounded by her family. She enjoyed playing "the slots" with her sisters and daughter on many trips to Atlantic City or CT casinos. She loved enjoying the sun on a nice day with newspaper in hand or attending the parades and firework shows every summer. She always found a way to help her children, and showed how much she cared in her nurturing ways. One of her many joys in life was music, and she'd listen and sing along to the words of the Italian and crooner songs of her youth whenever she could. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and sister. She is survived by her three children, John Laezzo and his wife Lucretia, Patricia Mikita, and Mary Jane Perry; her five grandchildren, Lori Kostopoulos, Gina Coffin, Alicia Perry-Rosa, Alex Perry, and Allison Mikita; her nine great-grandchildren, and two sisters, Celia Maiocco and Jenny Fitzpatrick. Mary is predeceased by her brothers, Pete Migiliore and Joe Migliore, and sisters, Clementina Suffredini, Rose Gresavage, and Antoinette Mizzoni. The family would like to thank the staff of St. Vincent's Medical Center for their compassionate care. Funeral services will take place on Friday, July 21, 2017 at 12:00 p.m. from the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull and at 12:30 p.m. in Holy Family Church, 700 Old Stratfield Road, Fairfield for a Mass of Christian Burial. Entombment will follow in the Pilgrimage Mausoleum at Mountain Grove Cemetery, Bridgeport. Friends may call on Friday morning from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service.
