Obituary of Harvey Lee Joseph Correllus

Harvey Lee Joseph Correllus, age 72, of Bridgeport passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 1 at Hartford Hospital.  Born in New Haven on January 7, 1945 he was the son of the late Rose Marie Correllus. He was predeceased by a cousin, William Correllus of Oak Bluffs, MA.  Harvey worked in food services at Fairfield University for over 40 years, and was known as a friend to all the students & staff he cheerfully greeted in the dish room & cafeteria. Most recently he worked at the Kennedy Center’s Project Venture Program.

 

Harvey is survived by his lifelong friends, Richard Adams & James Taylor, his Kennedy Center family, with whom he lived & worked since 1964, his guardian, Nancy Conroy & her family of Ansonia, Bridgeport, & Trumbull, and his special friend from Fairfield University, Elena McCann.   Harvey will be fondly remembered & greatly missed for his exuberance & genuine love of people. Through his outgoing, gregarious personality he made many friends wherever he went, and once he met you, Harvey never forgot you.

 

Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 7th 2017 beginning at 12:00 p.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Kennedy Center for the therapeutic recreation programs.
