Obituary of Tina M. Jakab

Tina M. Jobbagy Jakab, age 52, of Trumbull, beloved wife of Stephen Jakab, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Born on November 14, 1964 in Meriden, she was a daughter of Lester Jobbagy of Wallingford and the late Theresa Powers Jobbagy. A graduate of the Lyman Hall High School Class of 1982, she went on to earn an Associate's Degree from Post University. Tina was employed as a customer service representative at CUNO in Meriden and as an account service representative at Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield in North Haven. She had a wonderful second career as a licensed hair stylist, practicing at Harry's Hair Design in Westport and in a home salon of which she was very proud. Tina brought countless gifts to all those who knew her, particularly her warmth, style, marvelous sense of humor and an unforgettable smile that lit up every room. Her greatest gift by far was the unconditional love she gave to her cherished children, beloved husband, family and close friends. She will be dearly missed but never forgotten. In addition to Steve, Tina's spouse of 19 years and her father, survivors include a daughter, Kelly Angelone of Trumbull and her boyfriend Patrick Lomnitzer; a son, Matthew Jakab of Trumbull and his girlfriend Sabrina Paz; sister Linda Layman and her husband Walter of Cheshire; brother Richard Jobbagy and his wife Nancy of Southington; sister Patricia Cooley and her husband Kenneth of Wallingford; her father and mother-in-law, Stephen and Carol Jakab of Huntington, as well as several nieces, nephews, great nephews and a great niece. She also leaves behind her canine companion Jack, who brought her great comfort and joy. A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating Tina's life will take place on Thursday, June 22, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Catherine of Siena Church, 200 Shelton Rd., Trumbull. Interment will take place at the convenience of the family. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Wednesday, June 21, 2017 from 4-8 pm at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull.
