Obituary of Carolyn T. Hallinan

Carolyn T. Mayeux Hallinan, age 73, of Monroe, beloved wife of the late William A. Hallinan, passed away on Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at St.Vincent's Medical Center. Born in Norwich on May 11, 1943, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Buzon Mayeux, raised in Wallingford, was a longtime resident of Fairfield where she raised her family before moving to Monroe. Carolyn graduated from the Greenwich School of Nursing and was a registered nurse for over 47 years at St. Vincent's Medical Center in the labor and delivery department before her retirement. She was a sweet, kind and compassionate person at both home and work. She was dedicated to her patients and loved her friends. She was extremely devoted to her grandchildren, she cheered them on at sporting events, volunteered at school functions, and she was always there for them. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, sister-in-law and friend who will be missed by all who knew her.

Survivors include her loving children, Sean Hallinan and his wife Erin of Branford, Shannon K. Viteretto and her husband Scott of Monroe and Erin Scinto and her husband Robert of Shelton, brothers, Peter Mayeux and his wife Mary of OH, Daniel Mayuex of GA, a sister, Cindy Mayeux of OK and her three cherished grandchildren, Seamus, Alexis and Alexander as well as several nieces and nephews.

Her family would like to thank the staff at St. Vincent's Medical Center for all the care, compassion, and love shown to Carolyn and her family.

Funeral services will take place on Saturday, May 13, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull. Burial will be private. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Friday from 4-8 p.m.
