Known as, "The Mayor of Hilltop Circle", he made many long lasting friendships throughout the neighborhood where he was loved by all. He enjoyed gardening, woodworking, watching the UCONN Lady Huskies, and yelling at Joe Girardi while watching the New York Yankees. Above all, his greatest enjoyment was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. The memories and unconditional love he gave will always live in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. In addition to his beloved wife, Virginia, of 65 years, survivors include two loving sons, Joseph DiScala and his wife Lynn of Fairfield, and Robert DiScala and his wife Joanne of Trumbull; four cherished grandchildren, Dominic DiScala, Gina Benevento and her husband Vincent, Vincent DiScala, and Dana Calash and her husband Kurt; four adored great grandchildren, Vince, Leo, Giovanna, and Clark; as well as several nieces, nephews, and many dear friends.
