Obituary of Rose Gayda

Rose Cannizzio Gayda, age 85, of Bridgeport, a homemaker, died Wednesday, February 16, 2005 at her residence. Born in Bridgeport on October 24, 1919, she was a daughter of the late James P. and Lucy Dondalo Cannizzio and was a lifelong city resident.

Survivors include her husband of 38 years, Joseph M. Gayda, a son, John D. Cimmino and his wife, Karen of Charlotte, North Carolina, a daughter, Ann Marie Luna and her husband, Juan of Naugatuck, three sisters, Mary Rich of Stratford, Elizabeth Ciesielski of Bridgeport and Virginia Cavanaugh of West Haven, eight grandchildren, Bobby, Melissa, Nina, Jamie, Danielle, Kelli, Marnie and Dawn, one great grandchild, three special nieces, Lucille Bruno, Arlene Bruneau and Eleanor Sadowski, as well as several additional nieces and nephews, a lifelong friend, Emma Tomas and a special friend, Anne Frederico. She was pre-deceased by a son, Frank J. Thomas, a sister, Angie Pacelli and four brothers, Joseph, Michael, Matthew and John Cannizzio.

Rose was very dedicated to her family and will be sadly missed by all. 

Friends may call on Friday, February 18, 2005 from 4-8 p.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull. A prayer service will take place in the funeral home on Friday at 8:00 p.m. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
