Obituary of Gertrude E. Bourdeau

Gertrude E. Bourdeau, age 85, of Trumbull, a home maker, died on Wednesday, December 15, 2004 in Bridgeport Hospital. Born in Bridgeport, she was a daughter of the late John and Ellen Kirby English, and was a Trumbull resident over 45 years. Mrs Bourdeau was an American Gold Star Mother of her son PFC Gerald L. Bourdeau who predeceased her in Vietnam. She was a past president and held all offices for the CT Chapter of Gold Star Mothers, and was a proud member of VFW Post 10059 and American Legion Post 141, both of Trumbull.

In addition to her son, she was predeceased by her husband, Joseph E. Bourdeau, a daughter, Ellen Bourdeau , and two brothers, John and Walter English.

Survivors include her children, Joseph Bourdeau and his wife Gail of Vero Beach, FL, Elaine Musante and her husband Raymond of Huntington , James Bourdeau and his wife Deborah of Shelton, Mark Bourdeau and his wife Michele of Oxford, Lynn Myers and her husband Gene of Bridgeport and Yvonne Bourdeau of Shelton, 13 grandchildren, Thomas, Tim, Craig, Debbie, Christopher, Steven, Bree, James, Matthew, Kristina, Gerald, Ariella and Kevin, four great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. The family extends heartfelt thanks to Dr. Jerry Malefatto's office and staff and the aides and nurses of West Tower 7 at Bridgeport Hospital. 

Funeral services will take place on Saturday, December 18, 2004 at 9 a.m. from the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull and at 10 a.m. in St. Catherine of Siena Church, Trumbull for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may call on Friday from 3 -8 p.m.
